Chief Sound Engineer / Producer / Artist

​​​​With over four decades of experience in music, TV, and film, Emre Cords has earned a reputation for excellence in sound engineering, both in Calgary and across Canada. From studio design and construction to production and engineering, Emre has contributed to every stage of the studio process. His technical expertise has led him to collaborate with some of the most respected studios, including Little Mountain Sound, Ocean,  and  Mushroom Studios in Vancouver and Six Degrees, The Beach, Twisted Pair Sound and others in Calgary.

Emre’s work spans a variety of high-profile projects, including assisting with legendary artists like Jimmy Page & David Coverdale, AC/DC, Metallica (Black Album), and Canadian icons like Age of Electric and Skinny Puppy. He also served as Chief Engineer at The Beach Studio in Calgary, shaping the sound of numerous artists and productions in music, TV, and film.

In the world of film and TV, Emre’s credits include collaborations with Hollywood stars like Anthony Hopkins, Leonardo DiCaprio and Baz Luhrmann, as well as work on projects like North of 60, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, MTV Canada and CMT Canada. He has also worked with prominent Canadian artists such as Corb Lund, Sam Roberts, Default, Finger 11, and Tegan and Sara.

Today, Emre continues to work with a diverse range of clients, from major organizations like the Premier of Alberta, Encore Global, the Calgary Stampede,  Winsport, and H&R Block, to emerging artists throughout the Calgary area. With his broad expertise in music, television, and film, Emre remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of sound and production.

SCOTT BENNETT

Sound Engineer / Producer / Artist

Scott Bennett is a YYC Music Award-nominated guitarist and music producer from Calgary, Alberta. He takes a very modern approach with production and draws from influences like Zak Cervini, and Matt Good, as well as classic producers like Chris & Tom Lord-Alge. As an admin with URM Academy for several years, Scott had the opportunity to interact and receive instruction from producers like Will Putney, Andrew Wade, Colin Brittain, and many more.

His commitment to excellence drives him to meticulously oversee every aspect of arranging and recording your song, exactly as you envision it. If you have a sound in your head, he can have you hearing it back through the studio monitors in no time. His work ethic ensures that you will never have to settle for less than the best. Creating music in a fun and collaborative atmosphere is his specialty.

Scott is also an artist and as the frontman Calgary’s hard rock band The Path Less Traveled, he has shared the stage with notable acts such as I Prevail, Wage War, Silverstein, Cancerbats, POD, Pop Evil, and Finger Eleven.

LUKAS BOHACEK

Production Assistant / Engineer / Artist

In the dynamic environment of Chill Kill Studio, Lukas Bohacek is the versatile force behind the scenes, ensuring every session runs smoothly. As a Production Assistant & Technical Specialist, he brings a blend of technical expertise and creative insight to every project.

With a background in music production, engineering, and performance, Lukas has experience on both sides of the studio. As MC JOOKY, a respected hip-hop artist in the Czech Republic, he has honed his understanding of what it takes to make music that resonates, whether in the studio or on stage.

In addition to his production skills, Lukas plays a key role in managing the day-to-day operations of Chill Kill Studio. He coordinates studio logistics, overseeing everything from session planning to equipment setup. He ensures a smooth workflow, providing the necessary support to both artists and engineers. Lukas is also quick to troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise, keeping the studio’s gear in top condition and minimizing disruptions.

With his combination of technical know-how, creative vision, and studio leadership, Lukas is integral to making Chill Kill Studio a place where artistic ideas become polished productions.

JUSTIN MATTHEWS

Sales & Marketing Director / Artist

For Justin Matthews, music is about connection, culture, and movement. As the Sales & Marketing Director at Chill Kill Studio, he brings together creativity, community-building, and strategic expertise to help turn artistic visions into something bigger than music—a family of artists.

With a background as both a songwriter and a creative strategist, Justin approaches every project with an artist-first mindset. His role at Chill Kill Studio goes beyond promotion; it’s about creating environments where artists can thrive, elevating independent voices, and fostering collaboration within Calgary’s music scene.

Justin works to build strong partnerships with venues, media, and local talent, and he crafts live events that bring people together through music. He believes that art flourishes in the right environment—one where artists are supported and empowered to share their message.

At Chill Kill Studio, Justin is dedicated to creating a place where creativity meets opportunity, and where music becomes more than just a product—it becomes an experience.

AMY MATTHEWS

Studio Manager / Creator

Behind every smooth session and creative experience at Chill Kill Studio, there’s a steady rhythm driving it all forward—and that rhythm is Amy Matthews. As Studio Manager, Amy ensures that every artist, engineer, and creative enters an environment where the focus stays on the art and music flows seamlessly.

With a keen eye for organization and client experience, Amy brings both structure and soul to the studio. She keeps sessions running smoothly while also leading creative initiatives like artist branding and visual storytelling.

Focusing on designing websites,  Electronic Press Kits (EPKs), and developing branding and marketing assets that give artists a strong visual identity, she also crafts promotional materials for social media, events, and album rollouts, ensuring artists have the tools to stand out in a competitive industry.

Her ability to blend design, strategy, and industry insight helps artists not only sound great but look the part as well. Whether behind the scenes or on the screen, Amy’s work is key to making Chill Kill Studio a place where creative success takes off.
